ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The Winter Bike Build is made possible through a partnership with CH2MHill. Every winter for the last several years, CH2MHill has raised money to purchase brand new Huffy bikes that Neighborhood Bike Works youth are contracted to build. Youth are paid a stipend for each bike they build and at the end of the program, the bikes are distributed to children around Philadelphia during the winter holiday season. NBW graduates ages 14-18 are eligible to sign up for this class. Graduates bring their knowledge and skills to build up to 15 bikes each within a short four-week program. This year, NBW youth will build at least 250 bikes.
