Leadership and Advanced Mechanics

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The Leadership and Advanced Mechanics Course is designed to introduce Neighborhood Bike Works' youth graduates to advanced bike mechanic skills while learning how to become an Earn-A-Bike class Instructor or a Bike Shop Apprentice. The class combines hands-on instruction by some of Philadelphia's most knowledgeable bike mechanics, opportunities to practice teaching others bike repair, and field trips to local hot spots of the bike industry.

Students must be between 14-18 years old and have completed one of our entry level classes - Earn-A-Bike, Ride Club, Summer Camp, or Freedom to Ride. Students who complete this Leadership Course have the opportunity to get a summer job with Neighborhood Bike Works!
