Kinetic Sculpture Class

This slideshow gives a glimpse of all the hard work our KSC artists put into our 2016 entry: the Dragon.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The Kinetic Sculpture Class is a ton of fun! Students work with artists from 40th Street AIR to design and build kinetic sculptures. Through interactive hands-on projects and activities, participants have the opportunity to make art MOVE! The class' big project together will be to create a large kinetic bike sculpture they can actually ride!

Students will also craft funky outfits that will match the theme of their bike sculpture that they will wear when they take the sculpture to the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby! There we will get to ride the sculpture in the Derby and see everyone else's awesome and creative human-powered vehicles too!

Even better, students will attend another fun event - our Youth Council's Fashion Show! There they will get to see the very outfits they designed on the catwalk alongside other outfits NBW youth designed!

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
