Group Rides

We offer group rides at least once a month (weather permitting) and invite all graduates, their parents, and sometimes members of current classes on a ride. We usually try to pick an interesting destination within biking distance. Students earn hours with good behavior on the ride. Some rides are more strenuous and are limited to students that are stronger riders. Also, some rides are combined with other NBW activities such as Bike Safety Checks, which will limit the number of students invited.

The Annual Major Taylor Ride and BBQ

The cold weather didn't stop our proud youth from coming out to celebrate Major Taylor!  Youth from our 40th Street, Haddington, and North Philly shops road out to Fairmount Park for a Bike Works tradition.  We also had several family members, volunteers, board members, staff, and supporters come out to help make this a fun filled event!  Thanks to everyone for helping to make this possible from pouring yummy cups of hot chocolate to serving out some burgers and dogs, and even judging our youth slow race competition!  In honor of Major Taylor, NBW recognized many of our stellar youth leaders who have stepped up and helped our programs in a major way.  An all around great day with a great group of folks!
