The most Important Thing I learned at NBW  is that people should learn to wear a helmet when riding their bike,  even if they are just on their bike.   And also that people with cars should share the road with people that are riding their bikes.

The thing I like most about NBW that we can earn bikes for free. We can come here on the  weekend instead of getting in trouble. We can go on bike rides and we can go places.

Bike
     Riding Away

By Alonzo Armwood

Bike riding has been a very popular thing for about one hundred  years.  For some people it is their full time transportation, others for fun and others use bikes  sport.  Bikes are kind of taking over the millennium.  It has got so big that now cars have to move on over and share the road. Trick bikes for sport and mountain bikes for heavy duty riding.  People save a lot of money travelling on bikes.

Bikes can also be kind of dangerous though.  People have suffered bad injuries because of injuries caused by bikes.  Some car drivers  donít want to share the road and that is one of the main problems that bikers have.  You have to be careful while youíre riding.  It Also depends on where youíre riding when youíre in the busy streets of Philadelphia  Center City is one of the busiest areas in Philadelphia and there are a lot of bike riders in that area so they have to be very careful where they bike.

I use to live in Durham North Carolina where some parts were busier than others.  Most road were very slow and calm and there wasnít a lot of traffic around so all the kids were outside playing like there wasnít anything to stop them.  North Carolina also has  a lot of big dirt  roads and fields of green grass so there was a lot of riding area  for anybody to have a good time.  There are also a lot of places you can ride here in Philadelphia, almost in every school yard and the great parks of the city.

Safety is also a issue with a lot of the youth.  Some kids use protection but most kids donít.  For some reason they donít think it is cool to wear it or they just think they are skilled to ride without protection.  You can be very skilled but you still have to put on protective wear.  Some bike riding adults donít  wear anything too.  The protective wear should not be considered a fashion statement just  wear that protect you from any harm that comes to your body.  Because I would rather suit up than to get damage done to any part of my body. Please also use a helmet because it is the most important thing to wear.  So please
